We call these birds pink flamingos but the variety of hues that we can see in them is astonishing. I grouped them in a tight composition where some are resting, one is eating and the main one looks straight at us. I saw these flamingos in Bermuda and I worked from a number of photographs while my memory was still fresh. The painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Eric

Eric Vanasse grew up in Montreal, where the classical methods of drawing and painting are no longer taught in most superior art schools. Instead, he gained his knowledge and skills by studying rigorously under American and European classically-trained artists who founded schools dedicated to the classical traditions. This path allowed Eric to merge the rich traditions of the past, the scientific knowledge of the last decades, and a contemporary spontaneity that gives a breath of life to painting. His intention is to capture the inherent beauty in life and bring a reflection on our life as humans and on our environment in a way that is not preaching.
