This still life in this painting is based on a vibrantly printed fabric whose clear blues flowed downward in this arrangement suggesting a totem - a hopeful contrast to the drought that dragged on outside my studio as I worked.
This painting is on gallery wrapped canvas with finished white edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Jesse

Jesse’s scenes of Los Angeles capture the essence of the city with compelling accuracy. The artist’s landscapes, often set at dusk, convey the glowing natural beauty of the West Coast, but also the industrial sprawl of California’s largest city. The juxtaposition of concrete and beaches, streetlights and sunsets represents the constant tension between humans and nature. While many of the scenes appear picturesque at a glance, upon closer look the viewer sees the omnipresence of man. And yet, amid the expansive urban jungle, the magical rays of the sun manage to shine through.
