This is an extension of my Memory Stones series inspired by rocks and shells I collected while sitting by the lake on a sunny day. The colors are inspired by the shades of stones and shells. The created the texture using my palette knife.

Getting to Know Morgan

Abstract painter and native Tennessean Morgan Fite uses primarily neutral tones and is inspired by light, nature, and the changing seasons. She is also heavily influenced by her travels to Europe, Africa, and Haiti. Morgan’s first step in her creative process is mixing colors, which she sources from rocks and flowers she collects. Her color palette is subtle and quite limited, so these initial choices play a large role in shaping the work. Morgan strives to make art that moves, inspires, and invites.
