About this artwork

Artist Jose H. Alvarenga paints a tribute to action-adventure movies in classical impressionism. He pictures the hero of the film, a plastic toy soldier, the last man standing. The background projects a number 5, which in Latin is written with a V, the initial for Victory, says Jose. It represents the projection at the start of old movies known as a film leader which counts in reverse before the movie begins.
