Inspired by the Rene Crevel quote, "The song of the curved line is called happiness," this piece is about finding joy in the simple things. Lively lines bend their way around the canvas and show that sometimes stripping visual elements down to their most abstract manifestations can reveal the simple joy of creation. These lines exist for their own sake.

This painting is on gallery wrapped canvas with finished black edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Sumner

Sumner Crenshaw infuses her work with movement, lines and varying degrees of color. She currently lives in Maryland and finds inspiration in the work of Salvador Dalí. Her goal is to keep exploring the minimalist, narrative surrealism she’s been moving toward. Fun fact: The Ballet Russes inspired her to start a series that explores dance through painting.
