I love discovering eccentric worlds and a bit of surrealism in my paintings. To achieve this, I start my paintings with spots, or very spontaneous and uncontrolled lines. Characters, a fish, a bird, an apple and a surreal environment appear before my eyes and I am ready to start my painting. The canvas is painted with oil in soft and delicate hues. Small dabs of paint, shades melted into each other, and the black outlines give depth to the canvas. Silver shades adds shine to the canvas. The painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished black edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Clemence

Initially everything is abstract, gestural and intuitive for Clemence Dubois. A shape becomes a bird, a fish, a flower or a character. Her paintings capture colors and shapes that words have yet to say. She says, “I want people to look at my paintings and observe my feelings for beauty in all forms and my joy of living that permeates my art.” Clemence likes to read, watch television, swim and travel. She also leads workshops in creative and figurative painting.
