In this painting, I created an abstract and surreal environment. We do not see where the character itself starts or where it ends. The canvas is painted in oil in a mixture of warm and cold colors. The colors merge into one another. Small paint strokes are applied following the curves of the shapes. Thin black oil paint outlines define and add movement to the canvas.

Initially everything is abstract, gestural and intuitive for Clemence Dubois. A shape becomes a bird, a fish, a flower or a character. Her paintings capture colors and shapes that words have yet to say. She says, “I want people to look at my paintings and observe my feelings for beauty in all forms and my joy of living that permeates my art.” Clemence likes to read, watch television, swim and travel. She also leads workshops in creative and figurative painting.
