Elizabeth Rickert
Santa Fe, New Mexico
Growing up along the picturesque marshes of Maryland's Eastern Shore, artist Elizabeth Rickert developed a lifelong interest in capturing the harmony and beauty in nature. She seeks out new subject matter with travel, developing different working methods for each new series. Her ethereal birds' nests are painted from life while her glowing flax plant paintings come together from lots of reference photographs and detailed drawings. Elizabeth started her art career as a sculptor, which deeply influences the way she approaches forms and the effects of light. "Every subject in my paintings has a dimensional aspect," explains Elizabeth, "each containing a depth which you can just crawl into and get lost." In her free time, Elizabeth finds peace and inspiration in both nature and cooking. Her artwork has been showcased in The Boston Globe and American Art Collector magazines. Elizabeth graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Towson University in Maryland.

We couldn’t be more thrilled with the huge, intensely beautiful painting. Looking at it makes me happy and more serene every day. Although I was nervous buying art I hadn’t seen in person, my fears were unwarranted. Ms. Rickert’s work is even more luminous in real life. I feel this is likely the best purchase I’ve ever made.

I am excited to be an artist with UGallery. I have been painting for almost 50 years and have developed several different series, many of which are displayed here. I hope you enjoy looking. Elizabeth
