Artist Jose Alvarenga's soft still-life paintings are like visual puns, presented in amusing compositions. With his unique subject selections, he utilizes a classical realist style with a gentle nod to surrealism. "I find inspiration in everyday objects, particularly those with a quality of nostalgia, memory, or humor," shares Jose. His passion for art sparked at an early age. He started drawing at seven and ventured to painting at twenty. He is currently a drawing consultant in Craftsy Spanish and proudly maintains his affiliations with esteemed artistic institutions such as the International Guild of Realism and the National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society. Jose's extensive imagination takes tangible form in his small studio at his Los Angeles apartment. When he is not painting, he enjoys listening to music, playing the keyboard, and reading art books.
