This landscape includes a cell phone tower that has been disguised as a palm tree, although its rigid pose has more to do with the stalwart smoke stacks that march north along the California seashore to its right, than the swaying palms in the foreground.

This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with unfinished white edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Jesse

Jesse’s scenes of Los Angeles capture the essence of the city with compelling accuracy. The artist’s landscapes, often set at dusk, convey the glowing natural beauty of the West Coast, but also the industrial sprawl of California’s largest city. The juxtaposition of concrete and beaches, streetlights and sunsets represents the constant tension between humans and nature. While many of the scenes appear picturesque at a glance, upon closer look the viewer sees the omnipresence of man. And yet, amid the expansive urban jungle, the magical rays of the sun manage to shine through.
