Nighttime at the edge of a forest. Elongated trees with fluffy tops suggest a whimsical, fairytale environment. Teal green and deep blues and purples intended to invite and relax the viewer. Inspired by sycamores along the Indiana border.

Getting to Know Sean

Inspired by artists Wolf Kahn and David Hockney, Sean Williams triumphs color theory above all else in his work. “I try to use color as a compositional element rather than an emotional or decorative element,” says Sean. Each piece starts with a controlled color palette, and he strives to be mindful about his proportions of each color used. Vibrant hues including lime green, turquoise, and magenta are common in Sean’s paintings. The work is also marked by clean, modern lines and dynamic compositions. Each piece evokes meditative tranquility with its precise and delicate execution. When he’s not making art, Sean dabbles in carpentry and hopes to begin building furniture.
