About this artwork

Artist Ingo Ulrich paints an open field in the last few days of snow. Creating the piece, en piece en plein air Ingo captures this idyllic area near his home in Freiburg, Germany. I used warm colors to emphasize the illumination, in which the deep purplish shadows seem to glow, says Ingo. Small patches of dry grass lead the viewer's eye to the heavy thicket of trees emphasized by the soft radiance of the sky.
