"My inspiration for this painting was a combination of the Mad Hatter, aka Tarrant, Sherlock Holmes, Banksy and steampunk," says JJ. Part of a series of flamingos based on larger than life figures from history and fantasy. For each piece, JJ starts with one or more character references and builds an inspiration board for the painting. JJ has a great love of animals - before becoming a full time artist, JJ was the PR Manager at the Maryland Zoo and then at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. With these paintings, it's her goal to capture the essence of her inspiration while retaining the natural splendor of these birds.

Jill Galloway likes to paint everyday objects and people with a dynamic style reminiscent of Pop Art. She also finds inspiration in things like vintage images. Jill currently lives in Maryland and has been influenced by many art movements, ranging from Pop Art to Impressionism. Fun fact: when she’s not painting, Jill volunteers at a local homeless shelter.
