About this artwork
A sunny, impressionist scene of people shopping at a farmers market. I wanted the viewer to feel like going out to their local market for a coffee and pastry, says artist Jerry Salinas. I used warm colors against cool greys to give the feel of light and warmth. Jerry loaded the canvas with impastoed paint to give dimension to the subjects. It is funny how the brain fills in the details.
