This was painted in the alla prima style. Working wet on wet is my favorite way to paint because it encourages an energetic pace and requires me to focus on capturing the essence of the idea I am expressing. The name of this painting describes my inspiration. Warm sunlight bathes the work, adding sparkle and energy. This painting is on oil primed linen affixed to archival Gatorboard. It come varnished and will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Pamela

Pamela Blaies unexpectedly discovered her passion for art. A move with her family put her children in sad spirits, so to cheer them up she painted murals on their bedroom walls. With time, she began looking forward to painting more and more. She works in “alla prima” style, a technique in which artists don’t wait for paint to dry and work with layers of wet paint. The effects of light and shadows in the world greatly influence her work. She currently lives in Texas. Fun fact: before starting a family, Pamela worked as a fashion model and traveled extensively
