My paintings are interpretations of the effects of light in nature. For this piece, I imagined an early morning walk through a park. I started the painting with a thin wash of magenta and slowly built the surface by glazing layers of paint, alternating between different shades of green, blue, yellow and magenta. The painting continues around the sides of the canvas and comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Victoria

Victoria Veedell loves capturing the essence of nature by creating landscapes that are not necessarily seen, but felt. She enjoys traveling and has completed residencies everywhere from India to Japan. When she’s not painting, she enjoys spending time with her family and exploring. She finds inspiration in everything she sees, such as the moody and misty qualities of fog. Victoria currently lives in California. Fun fact: she is from Texas but no one would ever guess that unless they tried her spicy Lasagna — it includes jalapeños!
