This painting was completed alla prima - finished while the paint was still wet. Using chiaroscuro - highly contrasted lights and darks - gives a dramatic effect to the piece. This piece was painted on linen mounted on board. It comes varnished and will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Pamela

Pamela Blaies unexpectedly discovered her passion for art. A move with her family put her children in sad spirits, so to cheer them up she painted murals on their bedroom walls. With time, she began looking forward to painting more and more. She works in “alla prima” style, a technique in which artists don’t wait for paint to dry and work with layers of wet paint. The effects of light and shadows in the world greatly influence her work.
