One of Pam's favorite things to do on vacation is find places to watch the night sky. Here, she has represented a Hubble-esk telescope view inspired from her days long ago working at NASA. In this piece, she mixed oil paint and cold wax using brayers and squeegees to apply the paint and used droplets of solvent to achieve the effect of bubbles. There are also elements of writing and script, a signature of her latest work.

Getting to Know Pamela

Pamela’s lively body of abstract paintings tangibly exudes a spacious joy. Forms and colors dance across her wood panels. Repeated shapes create a mysterious yet delightful visual language. Texture is important to the artist as well. “The scratches and scrapes along the journey of making a piece of my artwork reveal so much depth and beauty,” says Pamela. She mixes oil and cold wax to complete each piece, and sometimes uses acrylic paint as an under layer. She works out of her home studio accompanied by her Havanese dog.
