This painting was done from life in the alla prima style, meaning all in one sitting before the paint begins to dry. The artist chose the subject and color palette to create an almost sepia-toned warmth of feeling that represents a cherished memory mellowed over time. This painting is on linen mounted on board and will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Pamela

Pamela Blaies unexpectedly discovered her passion for art. A move with her family put her children in sad spirits, so to cheer them up she painted murals on their bedroom walls. With time, she began looking forward to painting more and more. She works in “alla prima” style, a technique in which artists don’t wait for paint to dry and work with layers of wet paint. The effects of light and shadows in the world greatly influence her work.
