I was inspired by a photo I had taken of a light rain falling on the path as I was walking through a passage in the bushes of a spring garden. My paintings are interpretations of the effects of light in nature. I started the painting with a thin wash of magenta and slowly built up the surface by glazing layers of paint alternating between different shades of blue, green, yellow and magenta until I reached the desired glow.

This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished blue-green edges. It comes varnished and ready to hang.

Getting to Know Victoria

Victoria Veedell loves capturing the essence of nature by creating landscapes that are not necessarily seen, but felt. She enjoys traveling and has completed residencies everywhere from India to Japan. When she’s not painting, she enjoys spending time with her family and exploring. She finds inspiration in everything she sees, such as the moody and misty qualities of fog.
