Coastal bluff on a sunny afternoon. Distant purple mountains set against the deep blue water and light sky give depth and nice focal point. This painting is part of Vahe's long-running series of coastal scenes. Following in the tradition of the French Impressionists, he returns to painting the same locations at different times of the day and year to capture the changing light and colors of the landscape.
Granada Hills, California
Vahe Yeremyan is an Armenian-born painter who offers a contemporary perspective to the 19th century masters of impressionism. His land- and cityscapes convey the delicate and sublime beauty of both the natural and manmade world. To evoke a sense of movement and changing light, while still conveying recognizable forms, he juxtaposes colors and shapes. Vahe describes art as an indelible part of his identity. He is formally trained and has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in painting and a PhD in Fine Art Therapy.
