This painting is important to me because the food was made by a very special chef in Asti, Italia. His speciality is typical cuisine from Piedmont, like "battuta al coltello di Fassone Piemontese." His restaurant's name is San Giovanni, and my brother Giovanni helped me to create the best composition with lights, hence the painting's title! I use only four colors in my paintings: blue, red, yellow, and white.  I mix the rest of my own colors.

This painting is on gallery wrapped canvas with finished white edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Lucia

Lucia’s hyper-realist depictions of food are enough to make even the passive observer salivate. Based near Asti, Italy, Lucia creates paintings that strive to be even better than reality. Her crisp backgrounds contrast with and highlight the vibrant colors of her edible subjects. Lucia has an impeccable understanding of color theory, and uses only four colors when she paints: red, yellow, blue, and white. She mixes her other delicious hues using only this primary color palette. Lucia is proud to work for herself doing what she loves. She finds joy going into the studio to her colors, favorite music, and “the smell of turpentine in the air!”
