Artist Weldon Ball says he thought of the age old expression "Red sky at night, sailor's delight. Red sky in morning, sailor's warning" as he painted this expressionist sunset. The brilliant sky reflects across the water as a positive omen, with blue accents giving the scene depth and dimension.
Weldon Ball creates bright, abstract landscapes that oftentimes let viewers fill in the details of a nature scene. He currently lives in West Tennessee and finds inspiration in landscapes from the Southeast or his visits to Europe. He advises viewers of his art to really pause and appreciate the color and the way that they create space, depth and an inner source of light.
