Rose-colored clouds meet gray water in this oil painting on olive-colored wood. A lone mountain looms in the distance. A desperate woman runs to a cliff edge towards a distant, solitary figure. Ghostly forms appear by her side, evoking a subtle narrative. It is up to you to complete the story.

Getting to Know Abigail

Abigail captures a multitude of moments in a single composition. The passage of time is articulated in the ghost-like iterations of her figures despite the two-dimensional picture plane. The transparent layers of paint symbolize ephemeral layers of hours and minutes. The viewer is able to visually peel back layer after layer to understand how each painting’s narrative unfolds. Abigail is currently working toward her MFA at University of Washington in Seattle.
