This painting is all about roots–both going back to my artistic roots, and learning that in order for something to grow, one must take care of the roots. Crafted in a flowing, minimalist style, it is a return to the artistic style that feels most authentic for me. The figure in this piece simultaneously withers into the wind and reaches into the ground. Sometimes, when we think we're withering away, we realize we just need a little root care, we need to reach inside and nurture what makes us us.
