I always look forward to Valentine's Day.  My husband treats me to a beautiful bouquet of roses each year because he knows I love roses. Red, white, peach, yellow, blush...it never matters the color, but is always romantic!  This painting was painted from life, alla prima style, painted all in one sitting.  My hope is that the passion and love that went into this painting emanates to all those in its view. This piece is painted on linen affixed to board.

Getting to Know Pamela

Pamela Blaies unexpectedly discovered her passion for art. A move with her family put her children in sad spirits, so to cheer them up she painted murals on their bedroom walls. With time, she began looking forward to painting more and more. She works in “alla prima” style, a technique in which artists don’t wait for paint to dry and work with layers of wet paint. The effects of light and shadows in the world greatly influence her work.
