"This painting depicts a laser-like sun burning a hole in the early morning clouds," says Weldon. The light is reflected in the pink waters stretching out in the foreground. Weldon utilized a simple palette of blues, purple, green and pink to capture the brief moment the sun crested the mountains in the distance.
Weldon Ball creates bright, abstract landscapes that oftentimes let viewers fill in the details of a nature scene. He currently lives in West Tennessee and finds inspiration in landscapes from the Southeast or his visits to Europe. He advises viewers of his art to really pause and appreciate the color and the way that they create space, depth and an inner source of light.
