I began by laying in darks and lights, building up thick slabs of paint with a painting knife.  Then I was "hit" by the idea of a distant ridge at sundown and I went from there.  The edges are painted black and the painting comes wired, ready for hanging.

Getting to Know Weldon

Weldon Ball creates bright, abstract landscapes that oftentimes let viewers fill in the details of a nature scene. He currently lives in West Tennessee and finds inspiration in landscapes from the Southeast or his visits to Europe. He advises viewers of his art to really pause and appreciate the color and the way that they create space, depth and an inner source of light.
