Janet Triplett
Bald Head Island, North Carolina
Artist Janet Triplett paints vivid sunrises and sunsets seen from the marshes and shores of Bald Head Island, North Carolina. Capturing explosions of color with oil paint, Janet uses various tools including palette knives, sponges, brushes, and her fingers. “My goal is to create and convey to the viewer this sense of contentment, awe, peace, or tranquility I feel when I see the beautiful scenes I am painting,” says Janet. After earning her degree in Interior Design Janet worked for the Wachovia Corporation, and while there curated their extensive art collection. In 2003, she started painting still life and eventually painted outdoors—capturing the spectacular coastal landscapes around her. Janet’s studio sits above her golf cart garage, where she prefers to paint standing while listening to instrumental music.

Janet Triplett’s “Silent Reflection” is a work of art that glimmers and glows. The delicate pinks and blues of the creek as it flows into the distance are both mesmerizing and thought provoking. I feel myself floating toward the setting sun when I gaze at it. It’s a beautiful piece.
