A rag doll sits in the corner of a room on patterned carpet. The hands, feet and soft body reference the traditional cloth children's toy, however Krzysztof gave his subject a powerful life-like expression. He says the painting is meant to suggest that toys in the children's room are aware and alive.
Krzysztof Iwin is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland. His body of work is largely figurative with elements of surrealism. Showing frozen fragments of a reality that does not exist, Krzysztof attempts to capture the menacing, sometimes macabre beauty of the search for meaning.
