"In the late 1800s when riverboats cruised the Tennessee River, they had regular ports of call and these became know as landings," explains Weldon. "Paris Landing, Cuba Landing and Pickwick Landing, to name a few. This painting depicts a blast of colors from a sunset over Pickwick Landing." Brilliant expressionist sky in yellow, orange, pink, red, purple and blue. Reflections on the water and the bank in the foreground.
