Inspired by a hiking trip in Point Reyes, CA, I used transparent figures and blurred drags of wet paint to capture movement and time.

Getting to Know Abigail

Abigail captures a multitude of moments in a single composition. The passage of time is articulated in the ghost-like iterations of her figures despite the two-dimensional picture plane. The transparent layers of paint symbolize ephemeral layers of hours and minutes. The viewer is able to visually peel back layer after layer to understand how each painting’s narrative unfolds. Abigail is currently working toward her MFA at University of Washington in Seattle.
