Two weary-looking young people rest on the street, deep in conversation. Cool blue and green balance with the warm red and beiges, building drama and intrigue in the scene. The painting is based on a photograph that Liz took while traveling. "It is easy to identify with this couple, waiting for a train/plane, or just taking a break from sight-seeing," says Liz.

Liz is a self-taught artist who is inspired by the graceful movement of the figure. She paints both from her own photographs and from life. One of her favorite subjects, the dancer, exemplifies a celebration of the female form and the artist’s personal love of ballet. Liz’s paintings are emotional and even raw, capturing each subject with active line- and brushwork. She does not assign an intended interpretation or narrative to her paintings; “I think that each viewer brings their own response to my art, and I don't care to 'mess' with their vision and experience.”
