My inspiration for this painting was a radiant sunrise over some distant hills. As the brilliant glow peaked over the ridge, it cast a luminous wash across the marsh. It was very striking against the silhouetted trees.

Getting to Know Gail

Gail Greene’s paintings rarely end up the way she started them. After an initial block in, she steps back and studies the canvas. Whether it’s adding a spontaneous waterfall or painting new cliffs, she’s usually tinkering with something. Her intention with art is simple – to make the viewer feel good. When she’s not making art, Gail has her hands in many different pots. She’s a retired realtor, currently owns and operates a pet sitting service, and loves working in the garden in her spare time. The easel, though, is where Gail lets herself get lost.
