My paintings are interpretations of the effects of light in nature.  Often when I'm in a car either driving or the passenger, I will hold my camera up and take random shots. Back in the studio I go through the photos. I use them as a memory and inspiration for paintings. This painting is from a drive through the countryside around Tahoe on the way home to San Francisco.

Getting to Know Victoria

Victoria Veedell loves capturing the essence of nature by creating landscapes that are not necessarily seen, but felt. She enjoys traveling and has completed residencies everywhere from India to Japan. When she’s not painting, she enjoys spending time with her family and exploring. She finds inspiration in everything she sees, such as the moody and misty qualities of fog.
