While walking along a university street, I saw these three college students, members of a fraternity, sitting comfortably on a sofa that they brought outside so as to enjoy the beautiful weather. I asked if I could photograph them; they said yes. It became a very interesting painting subject.

This piece is on 140 lb watercolor paper mounted on birch plywood. It will need a frame for display.

Getting to Know Robert

Robert Holewinski paints realistic places with his own spin, and also throws in some fictional characters like Shrek. He currently lives in Florida and finds inspiration in the work of artists like Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Henri Matisse and Paul Cézanne. In his work, and that of others, he enjoys being able to see each brush stroke. Fun fact: he used to work for Disney.
