Fall is filled with wonderful smells, color and life.  I chose rich colors and a variety of textures to evoke a feeling of abundance. I also painted movement and energy into the composition to express the subtle exhilaration I always feel in this season.  The panel was prepared by affixing linen to Gatorboard.

Getting to Know Pamela

Pamela Blaies unexpectedly discovered her passion for art. A move with her family put her children in sad spirits, so to cheer them up she painted murals on their bedroom walls. With time, she began looking forward to painting more and more. She works in “alla prima” style, a technique in which artists don’t wait for paint to dry and work with layers of wet paint. The effects of light and shadows in the world greatly influence her work.
