The title for this painting came from the Robert Frost poem called “October.” I was especially inspired by this phrase:

O hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow’s wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all.

I was attempting to convey the heartfelt emotion of the poem and portray the rollicking energy and color of late October.

I created this abstract painting using archival-grade oil paint, gold leaf, and natural non-toxic solvent on luxuriously thick, inch and a half deep gallery wrapped canvas. The edges are painted, so the piece is ready to hang unframed.

Getting to Know Cynthia

Cynthia Ligeros creates abstract, complex works that usually begin with a single driving emotion. She currently lives in Colorado and loves the work of many artists, such as Mark Rothko. Cynthia loves finding inspiration in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Fun fact: if you look closely at any of her paintings, you can find a little bit of blue sky hidden somewhere.
