Another piece inspired by my recent sojourn to Ireland, this painting depicts the circle tower at the 1500 year old Glendalough Monastic site. Although the site is largely abandoned, except for tourists and visitors to the national park, I strove to capture its sense of life and spirit. To me, these were living ruins, full of stories to tell. I also incorporated the famous triskelion symbol into the sky to add a sense of movement and connection to ancient Irish culture.
