Onions are some of my favorite painting subjects, especially red ones as they lead towards purple. This is part of my food portraits in white series. I love the way shadows and reflections show up in white. I painted this piece using traditional methods and materials.

Getting to Know Tami

“When I see something beautiful, sometimes it must be painted.” Ever the classic artist, Tami Cardnella uses paint and canvas to show things most of us don't take the time or fail to see in our busy lives. She looks for muses in the same genre to build out a series, fulfilling a need to master the subject. Tami starts all of her painting with her favorite color: purple.
