In my Dunes series, the eye makes a way to the water through the dunes and sea grass.  This painting will fill your space with color and breezy beach mood.  I created Dunes LXIII with a palette knife and brushes in bold, colorful palette. I left the sides of the hand-stretched Belgian linen unpainted, showing the natural weave.

Getting to Know Kim

Kim McAninch fills her canvases with texture, abstraction, and her own imagination. Painting primarily with a palette knife, she layers the paint in a way to express more information with less detail. Kim enjoys the hopefulness of the morning, a cup of coffee, and a full day of creating alone. Fun fact: Kim designed wallpaper and fabric before pursuing a full-time professional painting career.
