This scene is of the rolling majestic hills of Sonoma County, California.  This is done in a plein-air style but done with photo reference in the studio from start to finish as if painting outside.

Getting to Know Steven Guy

Steven Guy Bilodeau prefers to create his works in one session, so that he can hold on to the emotional connection between himself and a piece. He often works en plein air and was originally inspired by early California painters called The Society of Six. He currently lives in California and admires the work of Edward Hopper and Maynard Dixon. When he’s not painting, he plays classical guitar and sells antiques.
