I love to dance and take a daily ballet class at a professional school. I like to paint pictures of dancers stretching, waiting for class, because, although I wanted to be a professional dancer, I never made it.  This is the ballet I know. This painting is on gallery wrapped canvas with finished black edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Liz

Liz is a self-taught artist who is inspired by the graceful movement of the figure. She paints both from her own photographs and from life. One of her favorite subjects, the dancer, exemplifies a celebration of the female form and the artist’s personal love of ballet. Liz’s paintings are emotional and even raw, capturing each subject with active line- and brushwork. She does not assign an intended interpretation or narrative to her paintings; “I think that each viewer brings their own response to my art, and I don't care to 'mess' with their vision and experience.”
