In February and March, the views along Highway One (from Half Moon Bay to Santa Cruz) are filled with fields of dazzling, bright yellow mustard plants... everywhere!  This painting is of an especially charming field nestled up against the coastal mountains just south of Half Moon Bay.

Getting to Know Sheila

Sheila spends many hours studying clouds from the cockpit of her sailboat on the California coast. She's frequently blessed with beaming sunrises and storms that create beautiful displays of light streaming across the ocean or shimmering off the nearby coastal mountain range. Sheila's award-winning paintings have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States and Europe. She has received recognition from the National Arts Appreciation Program, and her work has been exhibited at the prestigious L'Espace Bateau Lavoir in Paris.
