I painted this scene from a September day here on the Pacific Coast looking south from Montara down towards Half Moon Bay. The painting is highly-textured with impasto brushwork to enhance the movement of the clouds.  This painting was created on gallery wrap canvas with the image continuing around the sides.  It is wired and ready to hang.

Getting to Know Sheila

Sheila spends many hours studying clouds from the cockpit of her sailboat on the California coast. She's frequently blessed with beaming sunrises and storms that create beautiful displays of light streaming across the ocean or shimmering off the nearby coastal mountain range. Sheila's award-winning paintings have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States and Europe. She has received recognition from the National Arts Appreciation Program, and her work has been exhibited at the prestigious L'Espace Bateau Lavoir in Paris.
