This dramatic perspective, with its warm colors, captures the beauty of an ancient town in central Italy, says Mandy. Old Medieval streets were made for carts, not cars, leaving only a narrow slit to see the frothy white clouds rising in the sky. The warm blue heaven enhances the buildings' complementary ochre and sienna palette. She paints this with layers of glazes to impart a warm, luminous glow.
