About this artwork
Traveling in England's Cotswolds region, I sought out a number of impressive gardens designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown, shares artist Mandy Main. This estate, Croome Court, has a colorful history, including its 1979 purchase by John Lennon for use as a Hare Krishna community! Dramatic clouds arch through an ominous sky above the magnificent mansion and landscape. This animated family was chasing their dog through grounds covered with yellow flowers. In the course of painting them, I named the dog Lancelot.
