The poem “The Question” by Percy Bysshe Shelley inspired me to create this piece. I wanted to capture the raw emotion of the poem and portray the feeling of the awakening of spring. I hope that my painting inspires someone as much as the poem inspired me. I created this abstract painting using archival-grade oil paint, gold leaf, and natural non-toxic solvent on gallery wrapped canvas with finished edges.
Cynthia Ligeros creates abstract, complex works that usually begin with a single driving emotion. She currently lives in Colorado and loves the work of many artists, such as Mark Rothko. Cynthia loves finding inspiration in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. If you look closely at any of her paintings, you can find a little bit of blue sky hidden somewhere.
