Artwork

Created in early spring when poppies are in full bloom, artist Marilyn Froggatt displays a striking still life of the delicate flower. The petals gleam a vibrant orange while the leaves appear soft and feathery like a fern. "Their appeal as the California state flower is also significant for those that love living in the area," says Marilyn. This beautiful wildflower only blooms in certain areas and can create quite a sensation when they blanket entire hillsides in its vibrant shade.

Marilyn Froggatt

Palm Desert, California

Artist Marilyn Froggatt produces arresting impressions of natural landscapes from the most spectacular perspectives. Deserts, mountains, rivers, fields, and oceans come to life in her impressionist panoramas. By setting up at dawn and painting in the morning sun, Marilyn captures her original references in glowing light. She learned many techniques from various master painters that shaped her throughout her creative journey. She sets her career out as a lifetime commitment of constant dedication and perseverance. “My defining moment was when I realized all I had to do was keep painting, and I would improve,” shares Marilyn. She works in a spacious home studio where she projects her plein air studies into larger canvases with a professional setup. Books, television, and music occupy her snug workspace together with her trusty drawing table. Marilyn’s work has been displayed and represented by various Palm Desert, California galleries. Aside from her creative endeavors, she enjoys exercising, cooking, working at Desert Art Center, and coordinating events for the California Art Club.
