I love to paint scenery from my travels. When I stopped in San Francisco, it was great fun to ride the cable car. I used impasto technique, expressionist strokes, and vivid color.

This painting is done on gallery wrapped canvas with white edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Elizabeth

Elizabeth Elkin’s paintings express a love and romanticism for travel. Her impressionist cityscapes have an optimistic and fantastical quality. Whether she is painting New York, or a small village in Europe, the scenes are equally idealistic, as if seen through the lens of a fairytale. The many layers of paint glow through each other, and create an atmospheric sense of light and space. Her work allows the viewer to see the city, or town, as it should be experienced, on its most perfect day, when there is nowhere else you would rather be.
